Uncovering new organelle dynamics in neurodegenerative diseases
What we do:
Use Super-Resolution Live Microscopy to uncover new cellular pathways
Identify novel roles and regulation of inter-organelle contact sites in health and disease
Investigate how mitochondria-lysosome contacts drive cellular & neuronal homeostasis and human disease
Discover new mechanisms resulting in neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s, ALS, Alzheimer’s disease, Charcot-Marie-Tooth & Frontotemporal Dementia.
Our lab is located in beautiful downtown Chicago at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine (Department of Neurology).
Inter-organelle contact sites such as mitochondria-lysosome contacts allow for bidirectional crosstalk between both organelles
Defects in organelle dynamics may contribute to multiple neurological diseases
